Attendees will be shrunk to the size of a child’s toy—or at least it will feel like that—in the latest attraction from Disney: Toy Story Land.
The new theme park brings the toy-filled Pixar film, “Toy Story,” to life this June at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., offering yet another attraction with a built-in theme for meeting planners to use. This 11-acre land recreates Andy’s toy-filled yard and will introduce attendees to some of the franchise’s favorite characters, including Woody, Buzz and Jessie.
Even more, the themed park will feature three rides, including the existing Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers and the Slinky Dog Dash. Designed as a playset that Andy won, the Alien Swirling Saucers takes attendees on a ride with the movie’s green alien toys as they whirl through toy planets and space stations, while the movie’s infamous “Claw” hangs overhead. The Slinky Dog Dash coaster will also take attendees around fast turns, accompanied by an audio-animatronics figure of the character, Wheezy, who appears in the last scene of the ride singing “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” Lastly, meeting planners can organize Sarge and the Green Army Men to march through their event or have them lead attendees through an interactive boot camp.
“Meeting planners can incorporate the playful and imaginative world of Toy Story into their business meetings or conference space,” says Amy Pfeiffer, director of convention sales & services, Walt Disney World Resort. “At Disney Meetings, we have a host of creative resources and a team of award-winning Disney directors, scriptwriters, producers and entertainers to create immersive, themed settings to help energize your event and tell your story.”
