Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Northeast Florida’s largest convention hotel, just got larger after completing a multimillion-dollar renovation that included an additional room for small meetings and gatherings.

The major overhaul enhanced all 951 guest rooms with a redesign that mimicked the nearby St. Johns River. Natural tones in blue, green, gray and taupe create a soothing ambiance for visiting groups. Hard woods, metals and natural stone also add a natural element in addition to photographs inspired by the region’s coastal surroundings. The lighting is also customized to serve the needs of the business traveler who requires an effective workspace.

Meeting planners will appreciate the addition of six, hard-walled meeting rooms to the fourth level of the hotel’s Terrace Building. This adds even more flexibility to the property’s existing 116,000 sf of meeting space, including the 28,000-sf Grand Ballroom. Plus, the renovation included a redesign of the hotel’s rooftop fitness center, with new fitness equipment that takes advantage of the 270-degree views of the river and downtown below.

Perhaps most important is the hotel’s response to the increasing demand for energized and experiential meetings. The hotel now offers more experiences designed toward mind and body wellness, including enhanced culinary options, fun runs along the St. Johns River and instructor-led yoga classes on river decks. The property also rents bikes for attendees hoping to pedal their way up and down the riverfront.
