What started off as a quaint European pilot program has become a new luxe brand with 2,000 homes and counting—and a curious option for meetings and incentives groups.
Marriott International has officially moved into the home rental space following a rebranding of Tribute Portfolio Homes. Homes & Villas by Marriott International aims to customize and personalize the luxury travel experience in more than 100 destinations throughout the US, Europe, Caribbean and Latin America—private beach villas and countryside cabins to stone castles and urban lofts.
“[We’re] providing our guests with the space and amenities of a home backed by a trusted travel company, and the very best in loyalty benefits,” said Stephanie Linnartz, global chief commercial officer for Marriott International. Partnerships with a select group of professional management companies that understand and operate in the home rental space is also part of this equation.
“[We’re] providing our guests with the space and amenities of a home backed by a trusted travel company, and the very best in loyalty benefits.”
Homes & Villas also sets the stage for smaller bleisure-focused retreats and incentives in immersive locations—a cottage retreat in California wine country, an oceanfront villa in Anguilla with a private beach, personal butler and house staff, an 18th-century Irish Castle with a private lake for boating or a townhouse in London with an indoor climbing wall.
Beginning as soon as next week, Marriott Bonvoy, formerly Marriott Rewards, will allow members to earn and redeem rewards points based on the same criteria as Marriott’s long stay hotel brands. Those with elite status may receive additional perks such as welcome gifts or special. And guests can also expect many of the perks that coincide with a regular hotel stay such as a professionally cleaned home with 24/7 support, high-speed WiFi and premium linens and amenities.
