Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) and rideshare company Lyft have joined forces to offer on-demand ground transportation to CWT clients.
Already known for helping corporations manage business travel, meetings and events, CWT wanted to take it up a notch by addressing inquiries that its clients were having about on-demand ride-sharing. Partnering with Lyft was a way to get those clients and attendees where they need to go as efficiently as possible.
“CWT clients have been inquiring about on-demand ride sharing,” says Jim Hartnett, vice president of global supplier management for CWT. “The CWT/Lyft partnership provides our clients with a great on-demand ground transportation solution. The partnership also aligns with our objective to provide the best possible customer experience for our clients.”
Clients use the Lyft app as they normally would, but benefits through the partnership include offering more data visibility for clients, enabling them to quantify and monitor their Lyft usage and spend. The partnership also enhances insurance and safety of clients by offering insurance policies on all Lyft rides. There are even DMV background checks, a two-way rating system and GPS tracking to ensure clients are getting the safest drivers possible. Lastly, the partnership creates simple invoicing and expensing through direct billing or an employee credit card.
CWT is the first major travel management company to partner with Lyft, which is currently available to 95 percent of the U.S. population and is in most major airport locations.
