As the premier trade show in the meetings and incentive industry, attendees can expect bigger and better with increased education, networking and a host of other exciting experiences during the Oct. 16 to 18 event.
IMEX America is held every year at Sands Expo and Convention Center at The Venetian/The Palazzo in Las Vegas. “This year, we’re exploring the topic of legacy in different ways,” explains Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group. “It’s a subject that resonates strongly within the meetings industry—there has been a shift away from planning an event around a ‘single moment in time’ towards planning an event with longer-lasting, more meaningful impacts—impacts that can be seen long after the event has ended.” Here are six experiences for those attending IMEX America this year that pull from this theme.
MPI Carnival
Magicians, jugglers and artists, LEGO furniture, balloon columns and carnival games are all on the agenda at the new MPI Carnival a Smart Monday event. Lip Smacking Foodie Tours will also be giving a taste of some of the different restaurants in the area. “Smart Monday—our full day of free education and networking– is a great way for event planners to discover the latest trends, tools and thinking,” adds Baur.
Exciting Education
More than 180 educational seminars will take place this year with leading industry experts in the meetings market. Attendees can expect seminars, workshops and forums on everything from sustainability to best practices in exhibitions and events. “We evolve our education program each year to reflect the latest trends and industry developments,” Baur says.”
C2 Learning Labs
Visitors to the show can climb inside a Cloud Lab thanks to C2 International’s “Emotions and Technology: An Exploration of Audience Connection” session, part of the MPI yeynote series.
IMEX Live Zone
The Live Zone will be home to a selection of interactive live experiences including giant puppets, a VR zip line, digital caricatures, artists, jugglers, a kinetic magic wall and a living wall.
IMEX Tech Zone
This is a new testing ground for the latest event technology where buyers can try out innovative products and ideas brought to the show by new or up and coming tech companies.
The Legacy Wall
