National Veterans Day Observances, D.C. Area
Arlington National Cemetery
In its 71st year in 2024, the annual Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery begins at 11:11 a.m. each November 11. The ceremony commences with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (limited to official participants only). The observance continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with speeches and a parade of colors by veterans organizations. World War II Memorial
Commemorate Veterans Day at 9 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2024, at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., and pay tribute to the more than 16 million men and women who served with the U.S. armed forces during WWII. Vietnam Veterans Memorial: 30th Anniversary Celebration
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will mark the 40th anniversary of the “Three Servicemen” statue and the 20th anniversary of the In Memory plaque on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 1 p.m. at its annual Veterans Day at The Wall ceremony. Korean War Veterans Memorial

New York City
The nation’s largest Veterans Day event, the New York City Veterans Day Parade hosted by the United War Veterans Council, will return on Monday, November 11, 2024, for its 105th year with an estimated 20,000 participants from across the U.S. marching up Fifth Avenue.The Marine Corps is this year’s featured service for the event, which will run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. between 26th and 48th streets in Manhattan.
National WWII Museum, New Orleans
On Veterans Day, the Museum will offer free admission to veterans of all conflicts, as well as an engaging all-day slate of online commemorative programming, including a virtual commemorative ceremony at 11 a.m. followed by a performance from the Victory Belles.
