Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs reopened in late January 2017 in Orlando, Fla., to offer groups five distinct indoor and outdoor event spaces within the themed four-story restaurant.

True to its name, the building’s exterior was designed to look like a modern observatory, while its interior features a space-age look that incorporates some of Hollywood’s best movie memorabilia from the “Star Wars,” “Hunger Games” and “Spider-Man” movies, to name a few. Each floor represents a different theme with lots of glass displays throughout that keep attendees entertained as they make their way through the space.

“We wanted Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs to reinvent what is expected from themed dining,” says Planet Hollywood International Founder and Chairman Robert Earl. “What we’ve created here is a stand-alone destination that evokes the feeling of early 20th century Florida and fits into the greater story of Disney Springs.”

Planners can incorporate the venue’s new 4,500-square-foot immersive video wall, which provides a backdrop of music videos, classic sing-alongs and customized three-dimensional animation that makes objects look as if they are physically present in the space. The video wall can also be used for customized corporate presentations such as sales recognition, pre-recorded presentations by the CEO or even live event broadcasting. Other highlights of the restaurant include spherical planet-shaped lighting fixtures and an interactive DJ spinning nightly on the lobby floor.

The 36,000-sf restaurant’s new menu is equally impressive with upscale plated dishes such as the gulf crab cakes and remoulade sauce, filet mignon with roasted shallots, and truffle mac and cheese. Meeting planners can rent out the restaurant to accommodate everything from semi-private events of 15 to private functions of 75 to full venue buyouts of 1,100 delegates in the different spaces that feature space-themed names such as “Galaxy” and “Stargazers Bar.”
