Passengers on Queen Anne’s maiden world cruise were told to draw curtains and turn off lights as they passed through a pirate hot spot.
The on-board warning of a “heightened level of security,” came as the ship passed through the Sulu and Celebes Seas near Indonesia and the Philippines.
Cunard confirmed there was “no specific threat” to the ship, which carries more than 3,000 passengers and more than 1,000 crew.
Queen Anne is currently on her first round-the-world tour after leaving Southampton in January and being launched in the city last April, 2024.
