Melia Hotels International has big news: It’s reinventing the INNSIDE by Melia lifestyle brand to include resort destinations.

Previously, the INNSIDE brand catered to the younger generation of business and leisure travelers through its centrally located, urban properties in Europe. While it plans to still cater to the millennial demographic, it also plans to venture into more resort destinations in 2019. With plans to have 22 hotels in resort locales that cater to the “bleisure” concept, INNSIDE will see expansion into specifically Mallorca, Spain; Bali, Indonesia; and Malaysia, in addition to other places throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The brand plans to emphasize three key elements: sustainability, holistic bleisure, and music and culture. The brand’s focus on sustainability will include using recyclable materials throughout properties, working with hyper-local suppliers and ensuring no single-use plastic.

And its holistic bleisure efforts translate into designated areas for attendees to work, workout, rest and play as well as offer access to INNSIDE city guides, with local sights and wellness tips. State-of-the-art fitness suites, the latest digital fitness software and on-site swimming pools in addition to yoga classes will help attendees take care of body and mind. And all properties will feature open lobby spaces for impromptu meetings in addition to creative spaces such as a cinema, wellness studio and recording studio, which can be booked for events.

Lastly, rooms will feature the comforts of home, with amenities such as bathrobes, slippers and flip flops, and a complimentary minibar, with fresh juices and local beer. For those lucky attendees staying in Superior+rooms, Smeg fridges will be available, filled with healthy treats, drinks and snacks. These rooms will also feature high-end sound systems, complimentary streaming services and complimentary bike rental for attendees to explore the local area.

One of the first properties to boast the reinvented brand will be the 238-room INNSIDE Kuala Lumpur Cheras, scheduled to open in Malaysia in late 2019.
