As part of the Hispanic Heritage Month collection, Delta will introduce a range of content from TelevisaUnivision across its in-flight entertainment, beginning with a variety of films in September and expanding to include television series in October.

Delta Air Lines, in collaboration with Aeromexico, has launched new on-board entertainment featuring exclusive content from TelevisaUnivision. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15), passengers flying with Delta throughout September and October will have the opportunity to enjoy a special, limited-time selection of popular TV shows and movies from one of the premier media companies in the Spanish-speaking world.

Beginning with a variety of films in September and expanding to include television series in October, the enhancement to Delta’s onboard entertainment is designed to provide more diverse and culturally relevant options.

Content Lineup

The initial offering will feature a selection of both classic and contemporary content from TelevisaUnivision, including such films as:

  • Presencias (2022): Mexican horror film directed by Luis Mandoki. After the death of his wife, a widower moves to a cabin in the woods to deal with his grief. However, strange paranormal events lead him to question his sanity, which become more intense and terrifying; uncovering dark secrets related to his past and the death of his wife.
  • Me vuelves loca (2023): In this romantic comedy directed by José Manuel Cravioto, two people with clashing personalities, end up sharing a road trip. Along the way, they face a series of chaotic yet funny situations that lead them to get to know each other better, developing feelings and testing their notions of relationships and love.
  • La absoluta (2022): A documentary written and directed by Jorge Laplace, La absoluta tells the story of a sports team and each of its members, exploring their dreams, challenges, victories and defeats over the years.

In October, TV episodes will include:

  • María Félix (S1/E1: Una Mujer con Corazón de Hombre): The story of a woman ahead of her time, who faced a man’s world and earned her place, becoming the ultimate diva of Mexican cinema.
  • Reconexión México (S1/E1: Guanajuato): Join Aaron Diaz takes an incredible journey through Mexico with special guests, uncovering hidden treasures and connecting with local communities. Reconexión offers adventure, fun, and an immersive experience in the heart of Mexico.

A Strategic Partnership

This new offering is part of a broader strategic partnership between Delta and Aeromexico, aimed at ehancing the travel experience for passengers across both airlines. Through their Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA), Delta and Aeromexico have worked together to provide more seamless connectivity between the United States and Mexico, while also investing in customer experience improvements.

Bringing global content from TelevisaUnivision is a key component of enhancing the in-flight experience for global travelers, allowing the airlines to offer entertainment that resonates with a wide audience, particularly Spanish-speaking travelers. This collaboration is initially being rolled out as a content trial, with the potential to expand the partnership based on passenger feedback and engagement.
