Atlantic City, N.J., joins Wilmington, N.C., and Orange County, Fla., among other destinations, in developing a virtual reality (VR) experience for meeting planners to explore the city’s convention district from the comforts of their office.
In partnership with VR tech company YouVisit, Meet AC created the VR experience to help make site selection easier. It gives meeting planners a more in-depth exploration of Atlantic City, with immersive views of the 500,000-sf Atlantic City Convention Center, newly opened properties and rebranded venues. A quick click on the 502-room Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel pictured in the distance will tell you all the property highlights for groups. Or take a step inside the Convention Center Atrium and get a narrated description of the 90-foot high skylit space.
“Meeting planners will have the opportunity to not only virtually experience the Atlantic City Convention Center from any device, but will also be able to experience Atlantic City’s iconic sites throughout the experience,” said Jim Wood, president and CEO of Meet AC. “Meeting planners have evolved a new outlook when it comes to site selection, and this platform of virtual interaction will make their decision easier.”
The VR experience brings the destination to life, designed to replicate and enhance real-life sites and sounds through media such as professional photography, videos and 360-degree panoramas. It can be viewed from several platforms, including VR headsets, mobile devices and web browsers. An app is also available in the Apple iTunes Store or Google Play Store as an additional component for Meet AC’s interactive experience.
