Wellness at meetings only continues to grow in popularity after 2018 brought a slew of group wellness trends to the forefront.

If this is a top priority for your group in the coming year, you may want to check out these five wellness destinations throughout the U.S. that serve up a healthy dose of fitness, nutrition and relaxation.

Stowe, Vt.

This quaint New England town combines historic charm with quintessential wellness offerings in both the winter and summer seasons. Look no further than Spruce Peak at Stowe Vermont (formerly Stowe Mountain Lodge) where attendees will find an 18 treatment–room spa as well as activities like skiing, dogsledding, hiking and stand-up paddleboarding, to name a few. And it also features 56,000 sf of meeting space to boot.

Santa Fe, N.M.

New Mexico’s southwestern culture attracts groups for its arts, cuisine and numerous hot springs. And perhaps the best way for groups to take advantage of the area’s sacred springs is by staying at one of Ojo Spa Resorts’ two properties. Sunrise Springs is conveniently nestled in Santa Fe, while Ojo Caliente is located about 50 miles outside of town. Both offer unreal wellness experiences, with natural spring water running throughout the properties into soaking pools and tubs in which attendees can rejuvenate.

Tucson, Ariz.

Like Santa Fe, Tucson has become a haven for groups in need of some serious R&R. Two of its best wellness properties—Canyon Ranch Tucson and Miraval Arizona—offer a wide range of fitness, spa, nutrition and spiritual wellness activities that can be customized for your group. A group-favorite is Miraval’s equine experience that gives attendees the chance to learn more about themselves by communicating with the ranch’s horses.

Monterey, Calif.

Long before, “eating local” was a trend, farmers and fishermen in Monterey brought healthy foods to the table. Groups meeting at the city’s recently renovated Monterey Conference Center can explore this way of life by visiting the Old Monterey Farmers Market or eating at one of the various restaurants known for menus that highlight fresh catches of the day or ingredients that didn’t travel far to reach your attendees’ plates.

Wailea, Hawaii

Hawaii is not always the easiest for groups to get to, but once attendees arrive, it’s almost impossible not to feel relaxed. In Maui’s Wailea, there are beautiful beaches, golf courses and, of course, surfing and snorkeling spots for attendees to enjoy the outdoors. It’s also where the super-luxe, 380-room Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is located, complete with pool and beach cabanas, open-air thatched spa treatment huts and, if your group has time, about 30,000 sf of meeting space for idyllic meetings.
