Political and celebrity notables took the stage at last week’s PCMA Convening Leaders 25 in Houston—including former U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney, human rights activist Amal Clooney and musician Gwen Stefani—but it will be PCMA’s rebranding and new platforms that will resonate throughout 2025.

Following the aquisition of multiple organizations, Professional Convention Management Association won’t be enough to encompass the entire organization, says President and CEO Sherrif Karamat, announcing the organization’s new tagline: Leading Minds; Leading Change.

PCMA President & CEO, Sherrif Karamat.

“We have so many brands now, we have a house of brands,” Karamat told Prevue during Convening Leaders. “And we are rebranding PCMA and rolling it out in 2025, so you will see much more of that come through during the first part of the year.”

Currently under the PCMA umbrella are CEMA, the Corporate Event Marketing Association; EMA UK; and ELI, the Event Leadership Institute. PCMA also has two joint ventures—Spark, touted as the “AI tool developed by eventprofs for eventprofs,” designed to protect customer data.

The newest tool in PCMA’s technical shed, however, is Destinator, a mobile satellite navigation system that zeroes in on precise parameters.

“Destinator is a new tool for event organizers and destinations to come together more seamlessly, both for rates, dates and space but all this additional information as well,” Karamat said. “So for example, it will bring you information on ‘women leaders in a city,’ or what kind of healthcare industries are in a city, if you’re in a healthcare organization. So, all the information you need to make a very informed decision on selecting a destination, above and beyond rates, dates and space. We are rolling that out.”

Another platform being rolled out is Convene for Climate, a global business event sustainability initiative whose inaugural conference was held last October in Barcelona, Spain. Now a global platform— driven by responsibility and fueled by technology—Convene for Climate is no an interdisciplinary community whose aim is to transform business events industry “future-proof.”
