Prevue caught up with three individual winners of the IMEX Wellbeing Challenge 2024, held during this year’s IMEX convention in Las Vegas, Oct. 8-10.
Powered by Heka Health—creators of custom-designed, turnkey wellness challenges—the IMEX Wellbeing Challenge 2024 invited teams and individuals to participate in a range of wellbeing activities while enjoying some healthy competition with their peers. Participants earned chances to win amazing prizes for reaching Challenge Goals and working their way up the leaderboard.
Prevue reached out to three winners of the Top 10 Drawing, who all earned more than 30,000Â cumulative points. Each won a 2-night stay in a luxe king room at the Paris Las Vegas, including dinner for two at the Bedford, the recently opened Martha Stewart Restaurant; access to the 25,000-sf Voie Spa, including a 50-minute massage for two; and roundtrip limo airport transfers.
Pablo Zacarias, Program Manager for Bespoke—a Denver-based, award-winning experiential event marketing company—noted that staying healthy improved everything in his life, including how he did his job.
“Taking care of my health allows me to be the best version of myself, physically, mentally, and emotionally. When I’m healthy, I have more energy, focus, and resilience, which helps me perform at my best in both my personal and professional life,” Zacarias said. “Working at Bespoke, I’m inspired every day to bring my full self to our team and clients, especially as we strive to connect people to the heart of the brands we represent. Staying healthy means I’m able to bring my full self to everything I do, stay productive, and be there for the people around me. It’s a foundation that supports my overall well-being and helps me achieve my goals.”
Zacarias said he maintains a regular workout routine that includes swimming, weightlifting, yoga, and cardio conditioning while also focusing on healthy eating and limiting sugar intake. He also noted that the company supports his wellness efforts and said that “Bespoke encourages wellness, making it easier to prioritize my health. Staying fit is essential for me because if I’m not at my best, I can’t fully show up for my team,” he said.
Wellness Leads Two More to Paris
Zacarias’ fellow Paris Las Vegas prizewinners also include wellness and working out in their daily lives.
“Staying healthy… allows me to perform at my best, both personally and professionally,” said Traci James, who practices Pilates, hot yoga, walking (and the occasional jog) and who is based in Vancuver at ConferenceDirect, where she is the Global Account Executive and Program Manager. “A healthy body and mind lead to increased productivity and overall well-being,” she added.
Fellow winner Melissa Autullo, Account Manager, Sourcing at Chicago-based NHS Global Events agreed.
“I prioritize strength training and cardio three times a week, not only for the physical movement but also for my mental health,” Autullo said.
Autullo also said she was completely surprised when she found out she had won the prize.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. I re-read the email the email a few times to make sure I wasn’t imagining it,” she said.
