A giant Jenga set, solar-powered swings and colorful outdoor seating are just a few of the ways Signature Boston is staying ahead of the meetings curve.
Its Lawn On D outdoor interactive space and upgraded technologies at both the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) and Hynes Convention Center continue to give groups a reason to meet in Boston.
Open between May and November, the Lawn On D Powered by Citizens Bank is a 2.7-acre outdoor event space located on D Street at the BCEC, and is available for both private and public outdoor events. Attendees can interact with its main attraction, Swing Time, a set of swings with solar-powered LED lights that change color when swung at varying speeds and heights. For groups, the park also offers two pavilions complete with picnic seating, colorful Adirondack lounge chairs as well as outdoor games such as a giant Jenga set, ping-pong and bocce. Located on the main lawn, the Pavilion On D features enough space for up to 400, while the Lawn On D’s Signature Pavilion can host up to 350—both of which offer free Wi-Fi access.
The 80-foot-tall outdoor Marquee, 2,000-sf video wall and network of 31 high-def plasma screens highlight the technological advancements at the 516,000-sf BCEC. The BCECÂ as well as the city’s 176,480-sf Hynes Convention Center also offers free access to Wi-Fi, the ability to connect more than 35,000 devices simultaneously, a 10-gigabit fiber network, seamless cellular coverage and digital displays. Better yet, the onsite IT staff at both convention centers is available 24/7 to help meeting planners with their technology needs.
