The Cape, a Thompson Hotel
Thompson Hotels opened its first Mexico property called The Cape in Cabo San Lucas in June. Located on Monuments Beach (popular for surfing), the property features views of the famous El Arco rock formation—even from its spa. The seven-treatment-room Currents spa is softly lit with dark walls and minimal art, as to not distract from the relaxing environment that uses the ocean as natural decor. Attendees can come here for some R&R in the steam room, sauna, hot and cold plunge pools. They can also opt for an al fresco treatment in one of the two ocean-view cabanas.
LINQ Hotel & Casino
After undergoing a $223 million renovation, the 2,253-room LINQ Hotel & Casino opened with a spa that caters to on-the-go professionals. Take its music, for instance. The Spa at The LINQ did away with traditional soothing sounds and plays jazz in the background. Better yet, guests can even play their own music by connecting their handheld device to the treatment room’s speakers. Guests are even able to choose their own aromatherapeutic scent for their treatment at no extra charge. While these amenities make the new spa stand out, it is also the only spa in Vegas to feature a Himalayan salt cave. Natural salt caves are used to help with congestion, asthma and other sinus conditions.
Solage Calistoga
In May, the 89-room Solage Calistoga completed a 4-months-longrenovation of its 20,000-sf spa. Its indoor-outdoor relaxation area attracts attendees with soothing natural light, while the men’s and women’s locker rooms feature white marble floors from Italy. An onsite spa herb garden adds another natural element, growing rosemary, French lavender, California white sage and mint that can be incorporated into a spa treatment.
JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa
The 299-room JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa will debut this fall, and attendees can get excited about the Jasha Spa space, which can work for groups. The spa has a common lounge area with plunge pools, a lap pool with underwater sound facing the ocean and an outdoor lounge outside the temazcal, a Mexican sweat lodge used by Aztecs to promote healing and well being. The spa will also demonstrate a mineral hydrotherapy circuit with a capacity for up to 20 attendees.
