Destin marks the spot for the new Henderson Beach Resort, set to open this summer along Florida’s Gulf Coast following five phases of development. Situated on nearly two miles of sand adjacent to the 208-acre Henderson Beach nature preserve, the property’s anchor hotel, The Henderson, will offer 170 rooms and suites, adding to the existing all-inclusive, 35-suite Henderson Park Inn.

Reminiscent of a grand seaside manor, the property will be the first high-end resort to open on Florida’s Gulf Coast in a decade. Amenities include a nature-inspired spa with 11 treatment rooms, abundant water features, and a private, women-only relaxation terrace overlooking the preserve. Groups can expect Gulf-to-table seafood traditions, a signature restaurant with display kitchen and an old-fashioned ice cream shop.

“This will be the most exciting luxury beachfront resort to open in the United States in years,” says Prem Devadas, president of property managers Salamander Hotels & Resorts. “The Henderson will become one of the most sought-after group destinations in the country because of its unique setting, genuinely warm and friendly staff, accessibility and array of activities.”

The resort will offer 10,000 sf of indoor meeting space, including a dedicated meetings wing, plus 20,000 sf of outdoor event space. Custom itineraries can be created for groups that feature deep-sea and fly-fishing, award-winning golf courses, private cruises and helicopter tours, and a range of water sports from kayaking to scuba.
