Earlier this month, Silversea Cruises released renderings of the soon-to-be transformation of its very first ship: Silver Cloud.
Silver Cloud’s conversion into an ice-class expedition ship will happen between August and October of this year, and it will combine Silversea’s luxury brand distinctions with the maneuverability required for expedition cruising. The brand’s signature La Terraza and The Restaurant public spaces will receive a revamp, while the ship will also see the creation of an Observation lounge. Plus, the ship will feature a new gym with Technogym equipment.

Muller, vice president head of Corporate & Incentive Sales – Americas for Silversea Cruises. “Corporations are always seeking new and innovative ways to inspire their top performers and distributors. The luxury ship will host a new color scheme, full suite refurbishments and multiple dining venues to indulge the most affluent traveler. In the expedition fleet, she will intrigue all those who sail on her new classic and expedition-style itineraries.”
To help the ship explore polar waters, the multimillion-dollar refurbishment will strengthen Silver Cloud’s hull. The ship will have a capacity of 260 in non-polar regions and just 200 in polar regions. A team of up to 19 dedicated experts will be on board to ensure attendees are able to glean the most knowledge about the destinations they will visit. Daily presentations and lectures by experts in the onboard theater will also be streamed live to all suites.
