Opal Key Resort & Marina is turning up the heat in Key West with a transformation that promises to bring fresh energy and tropical flair to one of the island’s most iconic waterfront destinations.
Located just steps from famed Mallory Square and its nightly sunset celebrations, the resort now offers guests a newly revamped lobby, upgraded pool scene, and three new dining and cocktail experiences—each designed to immerse visitors in the colorful spirit of the island.
“First impressions matter, and we want guests to feel like the vacation starts the second they walk in the door,” said General Manager DJ McCarthy in a media statement. “From our vibrant new lobby to the rooftop bar and buzzing pool scene, everything here was designed to make you feel like you’ve officially arrived in paradise.”
The resort’s redesigned lobby sets the tone with a bright, beachy ambiance featuring natural textures, lush greenery and stylish lounge areas, while a new grab-n-go station provides coffee and infused waters. Outside, the refreshed pool deck serves up relaxed luxury with sleek loungers, vibrant umbrellas and tropical vibes all around.

Dining takes center stage with three new culinary concepts that tap into Key West’s island-style food and drink scene:
- Lolita’s Coastal Cocina—The resort’s new signature restaurant brings Latin-inspired flavors, creative cocktails and an all-day fiesta feel. Mornings start strong with options like power bowls, French toast, huevos rancheros, and jumbo crab cake Benedicts. Later in the day, guests can dive into a festive taco bar complemented by a full lineup of classic and modern margaritas, tequila flights and alcohol-free mocktails.
- Elevate Skye Bar & Lounge—With panoramic views over the marina, this open-air lounge serves up handcrafted cocktails and shareable small plates paired with mojitos, bubbles, ginger-pear martinis and refreshing non-alcoholic sips.
- Ka’Teen—Tucked poolside and exclusive to resort guests, Ka’Teen offers light bites, handhelds, fresh salads, and tropical drinks in a relaxed, casual setting. It’s the go-to spot for a mid-swim snack or a frozen cocktail under the palms.
The Opal Key Resort features 178 spacious guest rooms and suites, a tropical pool, and an onsite marina that connects visitors to a full spectrum of island adventures—from high-energy watersports and historical tours to leisurely sunset cruises and the vibrant nightlife of Key West.
