Meeting planners, get ready for a game-changing venue in Mexico. Omni Hotels & Resorts is expanding Mexico’s meetings and incentives offerings with the Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, its first luxury resort in the country.

Opening in late 2026, this beachfront resort will offer over 27,000 sf of meeting and event space, including a 6,000-sf ballroom, an open-air pavilion, multiple event lawns and dedicated meeting rooms—all with ocean views.

“As our first property in Mexico, the development of Omni Pontoque marks an especially exciting milestone in our company’s history,” said Kurt Alexander, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts, in a press statement. “We believe that the joy of travel is rooted in an authentic connection to a place, and we’re excited to celebrate Mexico’s rich culture with our guests, introducing them to unique experiences never before offered at an Omni.”

Omni Pontoque promises an unmatched experience for both business and leisure. Meeting planners can expect flexible spaces designed for conferences, incentive trips and intimate gatherings, all equipped with the latest technology to ensure seamless events.

This beachfront resort will feature 244 guestrooms and suites and two 4-bedroom villas with views of the Bay of Banderas. The resort will also offer three original restaurant concepts, a destination spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools including adult-only and family-friendly options, a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor fitness center and a kids’ club.

Omni has assembled a seasoned design team to bring the hotel to life, including Bob Glazier, HKS Architects, Farouki Farouki, Girvin Associates, and Waldrop + Nichols with The Beck Group managing construction.

The resort’s exterior and interiors will pay homage to the local culture with a contemporary feel. The design takes cues from the property’s natural surroundings, leaning heavily on clean architectural lines that resemble a modern beach home embellished with a mix of stone, wood and metals.

Whether hosting corporate meetings or incentive retreats, Omni Pontoque will provide planners with the ideal environment for unforgettable events.
