“The adjoining marina also makes it easy for groups to get out on Lake Michigan and enjoy a quick escape from the boardroom.”
Located about a 1.5-hour drive outside of Chicago, Racine, Wis., attracts groups as a lakeside destination with fishing and boating opportunities as well as the newly renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Racine Harbourwalk.
The 121-room property opened on Sept. 29 after a one-year, multimillion-dollar renovation. It is situated near the headquarters of big-name companies such as S.C. Johnson & Son and CNH Industrial as well as the city’s business district and sandy shores of North Beach. The adjoining marina also makes it easy for groups to get out on Lake Michigan and enjoy a quick escape from the boardroom.
The property maintains some of its past highlights, with quartz, granite, marble and beechwood fixtures decorating the lobby and public areas. Part of the renovation included the opening of Third Coast Wood Fire Pizza & Pub — a typical, casual Wisconsin eatery with a variety of on-tap brews and locale fare such as cheese curds available. The outdoor Tiki Bar provides another networking spot overlooking the marina.
Groups can also take advantage of the property’s 4,000 sf of meeting space, featuring artwork inspired by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Other amenities include all-new equipment in the 24-hour fitness center as well as an indoor pool and whirlpool. While the property highlights local activities and cuisines, it also features the standard DoubleTree by Hilton touches such as the brand’s chocolate chip cookie greeting.
As part of the grand-opening celebration, the hotel will give Hilton HHonors members an additional 1,000 Points for a three-night minimum stay from the hotel’s opening date through March 29, 2017 when booking directly with Hilton.
