A putting green and several event terraces will make up the almost 40,000 sf of meeting space at the $100 million Mountain Shadows boutique resort to debut in early 2017.
Situated in Paradise Valley, Ariz., at the base of Camelback Mountain, the resort combines golf with nearby hiking activities in a desert-retreat setting. Inspired by 1950s modernism, the resort’s interiors will feature industrial light fixtures, geometric decor and local artwork. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the resort will take advantage of the Arizona sunshine while also touting views of Camelback Mountain in the distance.
At the time the resort opens in early 2017, it will feature 183 guest rooms; however, an additional wing with 42 resort condominiums and suites will open in fall 2017. During their stay, attendees will be able to take advantage of two pools, a high-tech fitness facility, a juice bar, an 18-hole golf course and lounge. The resort’s Hearth ’61 restaurant will serve up ingredient-driven cuisine in a setting that features massive glass walls and a large patio.
The meeting space will be a major attraction for groups, with 12,500 sf of indoor space and 25,000 sf of outdoor space. Its biggest highlights will be the 10,000-sf putting green that can be used for events as well as the 4,000-sf Camelback Overlook event deck with a built-in bar. The 4,500-sf Paradise Ballroom will also feature a retracting glass wall that opens onto Paradise Terrace, allowing for attendees to easily move throughout the indoor-outdoor space.
