A personalized eco-safari experience awaits groups at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, located in British Columbia’s Clayoquot Sound Biosphere reserve at the mouth of the Bedwell River. Surrounded by glacial mountains and lush rain forest, attendees will work with the onsite activities director to customize an adventure itinerary based on weather, tidal charts, animal sightings and personal ability.

The all-inclusive resort—open May through September—brings glamping to a whole new level with 20 “tents” available for groups. Of course, these tents provide luxurious amenities, with king-size beds, antique dressers, heirloom china and rugs decorating the wooden floors of the canvas bungalow. The tents are connected via cedar boardwalks so attendees can access the Healing Ground Spa or the dining room, which features dishes using local seafood from the coast of British Columbia as well as locally grown produce. This season, the resort will also open The Bedwell Bistro, nestled on the shore of Bedwell Sound.

Activities at the resort seem endless, with hiking, horseback riding, ocean and freshwater fishing, whale and bear watching, a Wild Side First Nations Interpretive Trail, a natural rock climbing wall, archery, shooting, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing and heli adventures. The resort’s stable of about 30 horses makes it easy for large groups to ride together to visit the gold mines of Bear City, a mining town that had its hey-day during the Yukon Rush.

An even more exclusive experience awaits top execs at the resort’s Cloud Camp, perched on the edge of a pristine lake at 4,500 feet on Ursus Mountain. It is one of the most accessible high-altitude adventures in the world and comes with its own private chef and mountain guide. Access to Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is available via floatplane from Vancouver’s International Airport or water taxi from Tofino (about 40 minutes away).
