Miami Beach has officially secured the green light for a major new hospitality development that is set to reshape its appeal as a global destination for conferences and large-scale events.
Strategically located at 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, Grand Hyatt Miami Beach will offer direct, climate-controlled access to the recently renovated Miami Beach Convention Center. Featuring resort-style amenities, the property will serve as Miami Beach’s first major convention hotel, enhancing the city’s capacity to attract major national and international clients.
“The Grand Hyatt Miami Beach is a game-changer for major meeting and event planners and a transformative addition to our convention center ecosystem,” said David Whitaker, President & CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau in a media announcement.
“With an unmatched location seamlessly connected to the Miami Beach Convention Center and just steps from a world-renowned Miami Beach, this hotel creates a one-of-a-kind experience for meeting planners and attendees alike. As a premier, year-round destination, Greater Miami is already a powerhouse for major events, and this addition solidifies our position as a top choice for high-profile conventions and meetings from around the globe,” Whitaker said.
This milestone follows a $75 million grant awarded by the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency, further reinforcing public and private sector confidence in the hotel’s role as a long-term economic driver for the city.
