The first-ever holographic press conference for the film industry happened at the 431-room NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding this past April using 3D holographic telepresence technology developed by the NH Hotel Group. The technology projected holographic versions of actor Hugh Jackman and film director Neill Blomkamp, who were hunkered down at the ultramodern nhow Berlin, into the Madrid-based hotel to present the new futuristic film “Chappie” to Spanish media. Journalists interacted with Jackman and Blomkamp in real time as if they were physically present. This technology is also available to planners booking either of the two hotels and NH Collection Constanza (Barcelona), with nine additional locations in the works.
The newly renovated Madrid hotel reopened late last year as the flagship of NH Collection in Spain. As such, planners booking the four-star hotel can expect close to 84,000 sf of function space, and perks such as next generation video conferencing technology that allows up to 250 remote participants to attend real-time meetings. The list of awe-inspiring technologies caps off here with the world’s largest 3,229-sf semi-transparent indoor LED vault screen over the lobby, where programmed sound and images can be projected. Haute cuisine is yet another innovative facet of this hotel, which possesses the only three Michelin star restaurant in Madrid, DiverXO.
Groups also have access to a number of idea-sparking innovations, including four Living Lab rooms where they can test and tweak new in-room technologies to enhance their overall experience, or become an innovator through the Start-Up Accelerator initiative by joining a start-up program in the hotel industry.
