The historic 176-room Dolder Grand in Zurich is perfectly situated between the urban buzz of the city and the sprawling green zone beyond, at a point of elevation that offers inspiring views of the nearby lake and the Alps. The hotel first opened its doors as the Curhaus in 1899, and over the years has attracted high profile guests such as Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Elizabeth Taylor and many royals and politicians. Following a period of extensive renovation, during which time all annexes built after 1899 were torn down and the main building restored to its original grandeur, the hotel reopened in 2008.
Event space at the property includes a 4,300 sf ballroom, 7,696 sf gallery and numerous smaller lounges and salons that can be combined to accommodate groups of different sizes. Fine dining is a focus at the hotel, and guests can choose from the two Michelin star-awarded The Restaurant, where Chef Heiko Nieder serves an innovative choice of menus in stylish surroundings; or The Garden Restaurant, offering all-day dining and culinary treats such as the V-Menu which showcases seasonal meatless cuisine.
The 43,000Â sf Dolder Grand Spa is a key attraction of the hotel, and the property is offering guests an opportunity to combine business with wellness with its new “Meet in Balance” package. Hyper-personalization is a top trend this years, and the Dolder Grand Life Balance spa menu offers treatments based on the preferences of individual guests.
Groups will receive a welcome tour of the spa, before holding their meeting in the spa library for up to two hours. They can then partake of one of four customizable wellness programs: Relax, Beauty, Vitality and Detox.
