Club Med Resorts are sprouting up every which way these days with a wave of resort revamps in between.
Here are a few Club Med Resorts that should definitely be on your radar.
Mahjong Meetings
Groups visiting the recently opened Club Med Beidahu in Jilin, China, can take to one of the 19 ski slopes, or enjoy a ski simulator, air hockey, billiards and 4 Mahjong rooms indoors. Club Med’s first international premium all-inclusive resort in China opened last year with Club Med Sanya, which also faces the South China Sea. Groups can expect the brand’s trademark flying trapeze classes, with off-site excursions to the Nanshan Temple, and the towering statue of Bodhisattva Guanyin that watches over it.
Treetop Adventures
Brazil has also welcomed the addition of the 375-room Club Med Lake Paradise, which opened this year in Sao Paulo, and the Club Med Rio das Pedras, located within the Mata Atlantica nature preserve in Mangaratiba. A new 5 trident luxury space (considered the jewel of Club Med’s three-tiered luxe properties) was added to the latter property late last year, offering private hideaways and luxe accommodations and services. At the lakeside Club Med Lake Paradise, groups can tee up at the 18-hole golf course, go paddleboarding on Lake Represa Taiacupeba, learn to sail or roll up their sleeves for archery tournaments and treetop adventures.
Getting “Juggy” With It
This year will see the opening of a new Club Med in France. Meanwhile, Club Med Opio, tucked away among olive groves and pine forests on the Plateau de Valbonne near Cannes, now offers CREACTIVE by Cirque du Soleil, whose Cirque-inspired lessons such as flying trapeze, aerial silk dance and juggling, have made it a hit with groups across Club Med properties. In the heart of the French Alps, Club Med Samoens overlooks the valley of Haute Giffre, offering seasonal stays—summer and winter—with coveted skiing supported by loads of new ski infrastructure that streamlines queue times and accessibility.
Masculine Beauty
Elsewhere in Club Med’s portfolio, masculine beauty has found its groove at Club Med Punta Cana where a new luxe barber shop debuted last year. The success of this new dapper offering has already sparked a renovation of the Men’s Lodge by L’Occitane, which is expected to roll out this year. Meanwhile, at the sports-centric Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie, Florida, the recently launched “Meraki” fitness program combining yoga and paddleboarding is all the rave, so much so that program has puddle jumped to properties in the Columbus Isles, Turkoise, Cancun and Ixtapa.
