By the end of this month, Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott International’s portfolio of more than 170 independent hotels and resorts around the world, will add 16 properties to its global portfolio across North America, Europe, and Africa.

This Marriott group launched in 2010 with a small group of independent hotels that are focused on design, each exuding a sense of place. Most feature unique meeting space, defying characterless massive ballrooms, in addition to local and seasonal menus.

“With rapid growth from five hotels to nearly 170 since its launch in 2010, Autograph Collection Hotels is truly a pioneer in the independent hotel space, acting as a gateway to extraordinary and unconventional hotel experiences around the world,” says Jennifer Connell, vice president of brand management and marketing, Autograph Collection Hotels. “We’re delighted to welcome these distinctive new hotels to our curated collection, bringing remarkable new experiences to consumers in additional locations around the globe.”

The collection’s new hotels include the 164-room Sinclair in Forth Worth, TX.;  the 154-room Drake Oak Brook Hotel in Oak Brook, IL; and the Notary Hotel, in the heart of Philadelphia, that has 416 rooms and 83 suites. Additional U.S. openings planned for this month include The CURRENT Hotel in Tampa, FL; Envue in Weehawken, NJ; and The MC Hotel in Montclair, NJ.

In Europe, Schloss Lieser in the Moselle region of Germany; Aegon Mykonos in Greece;  La Caserne Chanzy Hotel & Spa in Reims, France; The Shelbourne in Dublin, Ireland; Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic in Switzerland and Sankara Nairobi in Kenya have been added to the collection.

In the first quarter of 2019, Autograph Collection Hotels introduced three new hotels: the Hotel Bank Opera in Paris; the Oaklander Hotel in Pittsburg, and Hotel Northland in Green Bay, Wis.
