Situated on 2,000 acres in Farmington, Pa., Nemacolin Woodlands Resort offers five distinct lodging options. And that includes the uber-luxe Falling Rock boutique hotel. (That’s not to mention a pet resort and spa on property.)
Team building, wellness and professional development wrapped in 2,000 acres of natural bliss are the name of the game here. For groups, team building activities can include combat paintball, “Survivor” themed challenges, ropes courses and group meditation. Then, of course, there’s the two Pete Dye–designed, 18-hole golf courses and even Jeep off-road driving. Outdoor art sculpture tour (there are more than 1,000 art pieces across the resort) culminates at Reflection, Nemacolin’s newest space housing dozens of contemporary paintings and sculptures. Groups can also explore the art of stained glass, using the property’s Tiffany Collection as inspiration.
Wellness is also top of mind with the on-site Holistic Healing Center, with the option for planners to organize a wellness workshop for attendees, many of which are built-in to the resort’s daily activities schedule. This May, for example, a “Manifesting Miracles” workshop is taking place, while “See It. Believe It. Be It.” is on the schedule for October. Morning art therapy and photography workshops, and a “Pinot and Paint” experience are also sure to revive forlorn execs.
There’s also the Holistic Garden, which doubles as a place for attendees to experience mindfulness while also providing the resort’s culinary staff with fresh ingredients to be served in the dining outlets. While there are a handful of delicious restaurants from which groups can choose, attendees may want to try the wine-tasting experience that includes a tour of Pennsylvania’s largest private wine cellar.
For meetings, the resort offers 32,000 sf of meeting space, but it also has an in-house event design department dubbed ThemeWorks that can help bring creative elements to your event. Think a jungle-themed spread complemented by exotic live animals or a glimpse into the magical world of “Alice in Wonderland.”
