Swim-up suites, a wellness facility and even a solarium will help the new Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real redefine luxury in the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana when it officially debuts in December.
Melia Hotels International’s $110 million resort will feature 288 suite-style accommodations in addition to seven restaurants and bars, a full-service spa, aqua adventure park and beach club. But it is created to feel much more exclusive then the other two Melia properties nearby: Paradisus Palma Real and The Reserve. Take its layout, for instance, designed in the shape of a circle to represent a symbol of wholeness and perfection. That translates well into the near-perfect suites, which feature living and dining spaces, independent soaking tubs, private secluded balconies with hydro-massage whirlpool tubs or direct access to a swim-up pool.
The dining outlets also bring the best of the Dominican to groups with a ceviche bar, offering fresh ceviches, pokes and tartars as well as a steakhouse with an open-format kitchen and sushi restaurant. Perhaps most indulgent and true to the local culture, however, is the Cigar Bar, where attendees can choose from some of the best hand-rolled cigars in the area. To accommodate the popular wellness trend, the property also offers wellness programming for groups interested in dance and yoga classes or innovative spa treatments at The Grand Reserve Spa by Natura Bissé, which uses new technologies to enhance the experience.
Of course, groups staying at The Grand Reserve will get to take advantage of amenities at The Reserve and Paradisus Palm Real as part of its “Stay at One & Play at Three” offering. That means an additional 15 restaurants, five pools, YHI Spa with Oriental Garden and other life-enriching experiences are available for attendees.
