As a creativity engine for Scandinavia you’ll find no shortage of experiential ideas for adding pizzazz to your meeting in Stockholm.

Mid-December in Stockholm is all about the Nobel Prize and plenty of authentic laureate options await groups. Here are a few of the most intriguing to help your group experience Stockholm like a champ.

Dance in the Nobel Factory

In the 19th century Nobel Factory and event space near Lake Mälaren, groups of up to 500-seated can dine, dance, mix and mingle in the ambiance of the brick-walled and wood-beamed Big Hall. Now called Winterviken, the factory, once used to test explosives, is festooned with natural light and illumination of the walls in the evening can create just the right mood.

Stroll Through the Nobel Museum

The Nobel Museum in Stortorget, Old Town, offers attendees guided tours, lectures and exhibits where groups can learn all about Nobel’s life and inventions and what it takes to become a Nobel Laureate. The museum’s bookable event space is a unique backdrop to any event. Groups can also explore Bjorkborn Manor museum, which was once Nobel’s private summer residence, for deeper insights into his life and work, including a reconstruction of his laboratory, medals and possessions. Nobel’s infamous death mask is also on display, for those who want to a real up close and personal (I’d venture to say creepy as well) encounter.

Discover a Nobel Keepsake

For a truly Nobel experience, consider giving your attendees a noble keepsake of handcrafted glassware or purchasing specific pieces to adorn your welcome dinner table. There are numerous places around town offering creative and meaningful glassware, while the entire Nobel dinner series, created to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Nobel prizes, is also available for purchase at several places in the city.

Enjoy a Nobel Meal

Stop by Stadshuskällaren Restaurant for a Nobel meal served on genuine Nobel service is the perfect way to cap off the experience. Located in City Hall where the Nobel Banquet takes place and where King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden gives a pat on the back (among other things) to laureates, Stadshuskällaren offers all of the menus that have been served at the banquet since 1901.
