Groups looking for luxury properties with a personality needn’t look any further than The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, announced as Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s latest brand on March 2. The brand will include a portfolio of high-end properties that will still maintain their own brand identities but will offer all the amenities of the Hyatt brand such as participation in Hyatt’s customer loyalty program.

“The collection of properties will allow us to reach the modern traveler who seeks one-of-a-kind experiences, but also wants the reassurance and loyalty program that comes with our brand,” says Mark Hoplamazian, president and CEO of Hyatt Hotels Corporation. “What really excites us about The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is that this portfolio provides rich social currency through story-worthy, shareable experiences that guests will take with them long after their stay.”

The Unbound Collection by Hyatt launches with four high-end properties around the world. They include The Driskill in Austin, Texas; Hôtel du Louvre – Paris; Carmelo Resort & Spa in Carmelo, Uruguay; and Coco Palms Resort in Kauai, Hawaii, which will undergo a renovation and re-open in spring 2018.

The Driskill, built in 1886 by cattle baron Jesse Driskill who later lost the hotel in a poker game, maintains its historic grandeur with its classic architecture and haunted ghost stories. Hotel du Louvre has similar historic relevance, opening in 1855 as the first “grand hotel” of Paris. Carmelo Resort & Spa takes attendees into the depths of a eucalyptus forest, complete with local Latin American aromatherapy and a mosaic pool for an ultimate group retreat. Once a hot spot for Hollywood celebrities in the 1950s, the Coco Palms Resort will continue to attract groups with its coconut grove and ceremonial torch-lit feasts.

Future hotels in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt will be chosen based on the similar story-like qualities that these four properties exude—whether it be a fascinating past, a distinct location, famous architecture and design, or an exceptional dining experience.
