Now that summer is in full swing, here are five places with outdoor spaces that will surely get your group out in the sun and having fun.
The Reach Key West; Key West, Fla.
Not many event spaces take you into the ocean, but The Reach Key West, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, gives meeting planners the option to do just that. The property’s event gazebo is situated at the end of a pier jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean, touting ocean views on all three sides of the quintessential space.
The William Vale; Brooklyn, N.Y.
The William Vale’s 22nd-floor Westlight bar already provides an idyllic indoor-outdoor space for daytime gatherings. But Upstairs at Westlight, situated directly atop the bar, provides attendees an unobstructed panorama of the five boroughs and beyond that will bring any event to—well, we have to say it—the next level. For fitness-focused attendees, the Westlight also doubles as a gym on Saturday mornings, hosting its Rooftop Summer Sweat with Outdoor Voices series.
Hilton Anatole; Dallas
The 1,606-room Hilton Anatole takes the “everything’s bigger in Texas” mantra seriously with more than 600,000 sf of event space available for groups. That means lots of outdoor space for those wanting to gather outside. Its 3-acre JadeWaters activity park makes for a very playful setting and can seat up to 800. It also features private cabanas for smaller groups ready to enjoy a day of swimming.
Keeneland Race Course; Lexington, Ky.
Take your group to the racetracks at Keeneland Race Course—one of the top thoroughbred racetracks in North America. While it offers all sorts of event spaces for groups, its Clubhouse Lawn, attached to the First Floor Clubhouse, gives attendees a front-row panorama of the famous track. Planners can make the space their own with comfy couches and side tables to give the space a lounge feel.
Hilton Hawaiian Village; Honolulu
Surf fans will delight in this surf mecca. The Hilton Hawaiian Village boasts the 5-acre Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, where the legendary surfer first began his career. Meeting planners can organize events on the beach around the lagoon, or attendees can take a canoe to the tiny island in the middle of the lagoon to participate in an impromptu meeting or team-building activities such as lei making.
