Caesars Entertainment completed a total renovation of more than 75,000 square feet of meeting space at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino last month, with 90 million more being spent on all of its 3,545 guest rooms and suites.
The top to bottom guest room revamp will be completed next spring. We found a property primed for meetings during a recent visit, and loved the fresh and bright look of the spaces, many areas with natural light, and the fact that all of the lighting has been converted to LED technology, which will result in 70 percent energy savings each year. “The hotel has great bones,” says General Manager and President, Eileen Moore. “Meeting attendees love that they can come down two banks of elevators right to the meeting space on the third floor and not even have to go through the casino. Also, the design of the hotel is in a U-shape, so guests can access their rooms without having to walk major distances like many other resorts on the strip.” Another plus is the location. Back in 1946, when Bugsy Siegel first built the hotel it was in the desert far from downtown. Today, it is in the heart of the strip adjacent to other venues that planners can use to augment their meeting experience. The LINQ promenade is one case in point. Planners can book the Brooklyn Bowl for a music and foodie event or the High Roller for cocktails and canapes with magnificent view of the cities. Let’s not forget that this iconic property also has a phenomenal 15-acre Wildlife Habitat and water playground where events can be booked amid rescued flamingos (cared for, in part, by the same person for the past 20 years) pelicans, swans, ducks and various birds and fish. “What is really convenient for planners is that they can have one food and beverage minimum for all of the Caesars
properties and venues,” adds Reina Herschdorfer, director of marketing for national meetings and events. “So they can have their opening reception at the Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace and the closing party at the Flamingo pool.”
