Then send them outdoors for botanical and wildlife tours (with QR code interactions), ATV adventures, catamaran charters, stand-up paddleboarding or a 3- to 5-mile trek with the resort’s running concierge. A new program loans out athletic gear to health-conscious attendees. Of course, many opt to relax poolside with a cocktail and keep ‘em coming’ with the “MenuPoint” app. In between all of this, guest rooms exude their own brand of wellness via lavender and chamomile balm, menus with sleep enhancing superfoods and plush bath amenities, and wellness experts are also always ready and waiting to offer individual consultations. Art and culture offer their own mix of mind, body and spirit rejuvenation. And groups will find no shortage of these experiences—from ukulele classes and lei making to weekly craft fairs that offer authentic local shopportunities without having to leave the resort. Indigenous treatments take place in-room or overlooking the ocean in the Heavenly Spa, or groups can dine like royals at the Wailele Polynesian Luau, which has as its backdrop the redesigned Aloha Pavilion and its cascading waterfalls, tropical gardens and tiki torches. The show explores the Polynesian culture story of Pele, using earth, fire and water and ends with an extreme fire-knife dance performance. Offsite, groups can catch a shuttle to the Ka’anapali Golf Courses or the resort can arrange an excursion to Mount Haleakala, the world’s largest extinct volcanic crater at 10,000 ft. At The Westin Maui’s sister property, Sheraton Maui Resort, the last chief of Maui is honored by a young diver during a daily Black Rock Cliff Diving ceremony—certainly worth a gander. And when all else fails, retail therapy can be found at the Whalers Village Boutique Shopping Center’s 60 shops or down the coast in nearby Lahaina.
