Meaningful Meetings

1 Hotels, the luxury lifestyle hotel brand known for its eco-conscious hospitality approach, is bringing that same mindfulness to meetings with the launch of its Meaningful Meetings program.

Breaks every 30 minutes, intention and gratitude exercises, and video-led meditations by guru Biet Simkin are just the beginning of some of the program’s noteworthy distinctions. The program will be offered at all three of the hotel brand’s properties: 1 Hotel Central Park, 1 Hotel South Beach and its flagship 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. It was developed around mindfulness research, specifically a study from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School that attributes mindfulness to improved communication skills, innovative thinking and better reactions to stress.

Already bookable at 1 Hotel Central Park, the program features three Meaningful Meeting categories—Zen, Creative and Focused—that each include specific programming as well as specific F&B options. Zen Meetings, for instance, come with steps, supplies and guided meditations to help create a low-stress meeting. Similarly, Creative Meetings come with a wealth of tips and tools to get your team into a creative groove. Last but not least, Focused Meetings help steer a meeting into a more focused direction.

No matter what category the group chooses, every Meaningful Meeting will start by asking attendees to check-in their phones to a “phone booth” to prevent distraction. Stretching will also be encouraged throughout, while Chia-infused water, walnuts, almonds and blueberries will be served as snacks that promote creativity. 1 Hotels even designed tools such as molding clay, custom notebooks, decision-making dice and coloring pencils to enhance attendee interaction.
