Singapore Airlines (SIA) is bringing back its “world’s longest flight routes” earlier than the initial 2018 date it announced a couple months ago with the launch of a nonstop flight from San Francisco to Singapore and the addition of a second flight from Los Angeles. Not only will the nonstop routes provide easier access to Singapore, but the airline’s new First Class seats will provide more comfort for business execs.

As of June 20, travelers can start booking the nonstop flight from San Francisco, which starts daily service on Oct. 23. SIA currently operates twice-daily flights from San Francisco—one via Hong Kong and the other via Seoul Incheon. The new nonstop flight, however, will result in a rerouting of the San Francisco-Seoul-Singapore flight to operate as a second daily flight from Los Angeles to Singapore via Seoul Incheon.

The new San Francisco-Singapore route will take between 14:35 hours and 17:45 hours, depending on direction and time of year. The 8,541-mile route will be the longest flight in the network until 2018 when SIA plans to launch nonstop flights from Los Angeles and New York.

“Our customers have been asking us to offer more U.S. services and we are pleased to be able to do so,” says Lee Wen Fen, senior vice president marketing planning. “With new nonstop San Francisco flights and the increase in frequency to Los Angeles, customers will have two flights to choose from each day to both of these popular U.S. West Coast destinations.”

The new Los Angeles-Seoul-Singapore flight will be operated with B777-300ER aircraft, introducing SIA’s newest aircraft. It will feature new First Class seats as well as off there only premium economy cabin on the Los Angeles-Seoul route. The Los Angeles-Tokyo-Singapore route will also be served with the B777-300ER aircraft starting on Oct. 23.
