Sensitivity toward art and design have always been defining features of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. A recent partnership with the Variety Studio: Actors on Actors is adding storytelling to the mix, marking the fifth anniversary of the lifestyle brand and the first phase in a number of initiatives that will explore how travel fosters personal enrichment. The Individualists video series will tell the unique story of every hotel by collaborating with well-known film, television, art, photography, literature and design storytellers from around the world. The usually reserved for print Actors on Actors feature will showcase the Autograph Collection’s distinct hotel styles and designs throughout the Variety Studio.

“This partnership is the first of many initiatives celebrating individuality and the life-changing experiences that shape a person’s unique narrative,” Amanda Altree, senior director of marketing for Autograph Collection Hotels said in a recent press release. “Our collaboration with the Variety Studio captures very personal, one-of-a-kind moments from the most celebrated storytellers in television and film.”

In the first sizzle reel released earlier this month on YouTube, Kerry Washington, a.k.a. the quick-witted fixer “Olivia Pope” from ABC’s hot political thriller “Scandal,” shares with Jimmy Kimmel the effect of India’s cultural performing arts on her approach to theatre and television. Sixteen additional vignettes—featuring top performers such as Julianna Margulies, Clive Owen, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Jeffrey Tambor and Queen Latifah in one-on-one conversations with each other—are scheduled for release on June 1st.
