The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced plans to open a 158-room hotel in downtown Boca Raton in 2017, marking its second South Florida property. The hotel, surrounded by the city’s most affluent, residential neighborhoods and miles of beaches, will take shape in one of two towers, with amenities including a 4,500-sf ballroom and numerous conference rooms, a rooftop pool, restaurant and bar with ocean, golf course and city views, a cake shop, club lounge, golf course and spa. The property’s second tower will be reserved for 100 residences; both towers comprising an upscale, 65,000-sf mixed-use development that is connected by a skybridge, reflecting, what Mandarin Oriental hopes, is a sense of sophisticated urban resort living.

“We are delighted to be opening a new luxury hotel in South Florida’s key tourism and commercial district,” said Edouard Ettedgui, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental. “We look forward to bringing Mandarin Oriental’s legendary levels of hospitality to this exciting project. This new development complements the award-winning Mandarin Oriental, Miami, and will provide a sophisticated and elegant retreat for guests and residents alike,” he added.

The Hong Kong-based hotelier currently has 17 hotels and 7 residencies in the works throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Americas.
