Peru continues to attract groups with new reasons to meet here. Not only are the country’s major cities such as Lima growing their cultural scenes, but more destinations are offering adventure excursions for daredevil attendees. Here are four of the latest developments in this thrilling South American country.
Lima’s Growing Cultural Scene
Lima’s evolving culinary scene sparked other growing cultural attractions in the city. Galleries, design shops and contemporary art fairs such as Art Lima and PArC are creating an artsy atmosphere in the city. Plus, the newly opened Lima Fixed Bikes hosts weekly rides for attendees to get out and check out the city’s offerings.
Explora’s First Lodge in Peru
Explora Valle Sagrado opens on July 1 and will be run by Explora, the South American adventure tour operator. Groups can meet at the lodge’s 9,500-foot-high location in the Andean Highlights (about an hour from Cusco), where they can choose from more than 20 exploration activities, either on foot or bike, that traverse the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Sky-High Accommodations for Incentive Groups
Also located in Cusco’s Sacred Valley, Natura Vive Skylodge Adventure Suites is available for adventurous groups up to eight attendees. Three capsule suites comprise the skylodge—each of which is a transparent hanging bedroom at the top of a 1,200-foot mountain with a 300-degree view of the Sacred Valley. Getting to the suites in itself is no easy feat, as travelers have to climb about 1,300 feet of Via Ferrata or hike a trail with zip lines.
LATAM’s New Airlift
Latin America’s largest airline, LATAM, announced new routes to and from Peru. Starting last December, LATAM launched routes from Lima to Montevideo, Uruguay and Antofagasta, Chile. This May, it will also launch a route from Lima to Washington, D.C.
