Take a deep breath in Greenville, S.C., where outdoor enrichment adds layers to meetings and incentives programs.

A zip around the city’s BMW Performance Center’s track is not just a hair-raising, 90mph team building experience, but a lesson on physics. The center handles large and small teams for half- and full-day customized driving lessons on nearly two miles of various track configurations.

Hairpin turns aside, this is essentially a city for outdoor enthusiasts and a great way to experience it is by bike, hence its “Bikeville” nickname. Lake Conestee Nature Park has miles of paved and natural trails, but the most popular is the 21-mile GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail (complete with 60 geocaching opportunities) that runs along the Reedy River and bustling (and redeveloped) RiverPlace and its eclectic array of boutiques, galleries, restaurants and meetings hotels.

Greenville’s culinary flair surpasses the boundary of traditional Southern cooking with influences from all around the world—falafel and Weisswurst to monkfish liver and Mediterranean tapas. And there’s a culinary tour that touches each of them, or groups can just grab and go and keep it outdoors.

The city’s arts scene is also well developed, whether outdoor arts festivals that showcase local talent or a symphony and ballet at the Peace Center.
