Asbury Hotel

The Asbury made its debut last summer as the first major project in the multi-billion-dollar redevelopment of the Asbury Park, N.J., waterfront.

The 110-room hotel has already made quite the impression on the community with several funky communal spaces for groups and locals alike.

The hotel’s lobby takes on the trendy living-room concept with its front desk doubling as The Counter, a grab-and-go kitchen for attendees to order coffee and pick up keys. The ground-floor rec room features ping-pong, pinball machines, board games and a communal table for attendees looking to unwind after a long day of meetings. Soundbooth, the casual lobby bar, features nighttime music sets, open mic nights and even Sunday Night Trivia.

On the hotel’s rooftop, there are even more spaces for groups to gather. Salvation bar is open during the warmer months and is decorated with lanterns and candles. It, too, features DJ sets and can be rented out for private events. The 4,300-sf Baronet provides groups with a rooftop lawn, dotted with beanbags and other casual seating options. It can even be turned into an outdoor cinema with a 20-foot movie wall, art projection and sound equipment available for private events.

Last but not least, the seasonal Beergarden provides attendees with yet another casual outdoor space. Picnic tables and umbrellas set the stage, while a wide selection of local and craft beers served from a renovated VW van mix well with the rotating selection of food trucks available. A ping-pong table and live music round out the in-your-backyard experience.

The hotel is so popular this year that it was even named No. 1 in USA Today’s list of 10 Best New Hotels, as determined by popular vote.
