Hyatt Regency Austin Positions Itself as a Meetings Magnet

The rooms renovation of the Hyatt Regency Austin was inspired by the city’s vibrant live music scene.

The 448-room Hyatt Regency Austin is in the midst of a complete $12 million makeover of its guest rooms which, in addition to a $20 million meeting space expansion last year, will make it “the go-to property for both business and leisure travelers visiting the city,” says General Manager Lance Stumpf. The new 14,000-sf Zilker Ballroom (named after nearby Zilker Park)  is the second-largest event space in the city, with a dramatic two-story atrium and covered outdoor balcony. Overall, the event space totals 37,000 sf, and includes the seventh-floor Foothills Ballroom with views of the Austin skyline.

The city’s vibrant live music scene is the inspiration for the rooms renovation; x-ray images of different musical instruments make up the art in the guest rooms. The earth tone palette is inspired by the Texas Hill Country views. The rooms have the latest lighting and tech, and there is complimentary Wi-Fi.

The hotel’s location in the heart of the entertainment district means attendees don’t have to go far to soak up the city’s nightlife in nearby SoCo, the Warehouse District, 2nd Street and Sixth Street.

The rooms renovation project will be completed by the end of the year.
