In response to the recent shooting in Orlando, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) in partnership with Visit Florida is hosting a statewide community event on June 30 to help raise money for the victims and their families. All proceeds from the Dine Out for Orlando United event will be donated to the OneOrlando Fund.

“Our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families. As an industry, we want to continue to rally around them by offering our support, time and resources,” says Carol Dover, president and CEO of FRLA. “Pulse is a member of the FRLA, a part of our hospitality family, and we are proud to lend support. We encourage all Floridians and visitors to participate in this Dine Out to help the entire Orlando community.”

Participating restaurants are encouraged to donate a portion of total sales or profits, make a donation for every guest served, collect donations from guests and staff, make a donation for every sales of a specific item or donate a set amount. Guests are encouraged to dine at a specific restaurant and restaurant employees are encouraged to work a shift on that day and/or donate a portion of their tips.

“The Florida tourism industry stands united as a community. This is a wonderful way for restaurants and Floridians statewide to come together in solidarity with the Orlando community and make a difference,” says Will Seccombe, president and CEO at Visit Florida.

Meeting planners can organize a lunch or event at one of the several participating restaurants listed here.
