Grupo Posadas, the growing Mexican hotel chain, is aggressively changing under the leadership of its new Director General and CEO Enrique Calderon. Calderon plans to extend the company’s current portfolio of 132 properties to 300 by 2020—not including the several rebranding efforts happening across the portfolio. The company’s Fiesta Americana brand is seeing several changes upfront, with hotel openings and renovations debuting this year and last. Here are five changes that will continue to make Fiesta Americana standout to meeting planners looking to book Mexico in the future.

1. Fiesta Americana Launches Rebranding Efforts

Grupo Posadas is changing the Fiesta Americana brand image to accommodate the next-generation traveler who wants comfortable environments, the latest technologies and interactivity. Among the brand’s changes is the “seamless check-in,” which includes a fully automated and efficient process in place of the formal front desk. A Show Kitchen will also be available for attendees to participate in a dining experience that explores all five senses. And the redesign of the rooms and common spaces will include comfortable furniture and larger communal spaces for engagement among attendees. The new concept will include updates at several existing properties across Mexico, with ones in Guadalajara and Merida scheduled for upgrades by year’s end.

2. Fiesta Americana Makes Waves in Cozumel

The 102-room Fiesta Americana Cozumel All Inclusive Hotel reopened last fall after a renovation. At the same time, Posadas debuted a second-branded hotel, dubbed the Explorean Cozumel by Fiesta Americana. The adjacent, 56-casita Explorean operates separately from the Fiesta Americana, but attendees will have access to Fiesta Americana amenities. The Explorean offers groups experiential opportunities, with a guided activity available each day. Attendees can choose from snorkeling and kayaking to cycling amidst nearby Mayan ruins.

3. Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta Becomes All Inclusive

In October, Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive & Spa Hotel made the switch to all-inclusive accommodations. Attendees staying at all 291 guest rooms will now get full access to food and drinks in the property’s nine restaurants as well as 24-hour room service. At the same time, the resort debuted its new Nature Spa, surrounded by gardens. Cultural activities are also available in the 200-person theater in addition to outdoor excursions to the Marietas Islands and whale watching.

4. Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive to Open for Adults Only

Plans to open the Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive are scheduled for September. The property will be the brand’s first venture into the adults-only concept. Not only will it feature a lot of music and more adult-friendly activities, it will feature a conference center with the largest meeting space in Puerto Vallarta, up to 1,300 people.

5. Grand Fiesta Americana to Debut in Puebla

The first new property to debut the Fiesta Americana brand concept will be the Grand Fiesta Americana scheduled to open in Puebla later this year. The opening of the 168-room property will attract more high-end business travelers, putting Puebla on par with cosmopolitan cities such as Guadalajara and Mexico City. “Fiesta Americana Puebla will address the demand for hotel services that appeal to high-end business and leisure travelers coming to the city,” says Jose Juan Gonzalez, COO of Fiesta Americana Hotels.
