Daun Curry’s Boulevard Penthouse design

Three designers—Tihany Design, Daun Curry and Richmond International—partnered with The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to create 21 ultra-luxury Boulevard Penthouses in the property’s Boulevard Tower.

Ideal for top execs or intimate parties, the penthouses will range from 2,000 sf to 5,000 sf and will feature seven unique designs from each design team. And don’t worry, the property also commissioned Tihany Design to design the Private Gaming Salon that will be available exclusively for attendees staying in the penthouses. Slated for completion at the end of this year or early next year, the penthouses will feature a different approach from all three designers.

Tihany Design’s design revolves around the idea of two distinct guest personas—one from Beverly Hills and one from New York. “The scheme inspired by our Beverly Hills producer is very light and airy with curving angles and organic forms to capture that relaxed California spirit. It feels like a sophisticated bungalow,” says Adam D. Tihany of Tihany Design. “The New York City scheme is more dramatic with sharp black and white contrasts and geometric shapes. The design embodies the high-rise, debonair lifestyle of our successful real-estate entrepreneur. All the suites are made to capture a luxury residential feel: Each features impressive hand-selected art, custom detailing and unequaled views of the city.”

Daun Curry plans on developing open-concept spaces that highlight the penthouse views as well, using a color palette of ochre, coriander and blush hues. Curry will commission contributing artisans to custom design furniture, while other details—pony-hair walls, hand-cut Italian glass mosaic murals and cave-like soaking tubs that morph out of hand-cut marble—will also be included.

“When I think about Vegas, I think about adventure; I think about curiosity,” says Daun Curry, “I wanted the design to feel classic while having a twist. It’s about defining a new kind of luxury on the Strip.”

Lastly, Richmond International will feature provocative artwork and whimsical sculptural installations inspired by digital art installations in the hotel lobby. Tailored finishes such as 24-karat gold handcrafted resin and verde eglomise panels will also round out the luxury experience, while color palettes of teal and cobalt blue will provide distinct splashes of color.

“We wanted to engage the curious class, the savvy guests who are sophisticated experience seekers and are looking for the next best thing—a truly original experience,” says Fiona Thompson of Richmond International. “The artwork and sculptures for the Boulevard Penthouses are witty and playful—a journey of discovery at every corner that inspires thought, engages the senses and allows one to just let go and indulge.”
