Margaritaville at Lanier Islands

The Margaritaville brand continues to expand its “5 O’Clock Somewhere” state of mind, announcing several new properties and restaurants.

Here are just three Margaritaville openings that meeting planners can look forward to in the near future.

Margaritaville Openings: Lanier Islands

Margaritaville brings its taste of paradise to the Lake Lanier Islands resort community in Georgia. The first phase of a multi-year, multimillion-dollar overhaul of the resort debuts this month with a rebranding of LanierWorld to LandShark Landing, which incorporates the Margaritaville mentality. That includes renaming the resort’s beach to Paradise Beach as well as new dining concepts such as the new LandShark Bar & Grill and License to Chill Bar. Different venues and activities, such as the newly redesigned excursion yachts, make this a new hotspot for groups. The adjacent 221-room Legacy Lodge and six, six-bedroom Legacy Villas, for one, offers 23,000 sf of event space.

Margaritaville Openings: New York City

A new Margaritaville Resort will bring a bit of island paradise to the Big Apple in the form of a 234-room, 29-story property, located just blocks away from Time Square. Set to debut in 2020, the $300 million project will include a rooftop pool, St. Somewhere Spa and lounge areas as well as all the traditional Margaritaville F&B concepts—i.e., the LandShark Bar & Grill and 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar, in addition to its all-new Chill Bar concept.

Margaritaville Openings: The Pointe

Also new to the Margaritaville portfolio will be Margaritaville at The Pointe, which is set to debut in the Bahamas’ Nassau next year. Already under construction, the $250 million project will include the 150-room Margaritaville Beach Resort, 150 oceanfront residences, a 45-slip marina, waterpark, entertainment center and, of course, signature Margaritaville food outlets. The marina’s prime location gives groups a chance to get out on the water and go fishing or take a pirate ship excursion, among other water activities.
