Two Miami Kimpton hotels will be donating money to breast cancer research for every function booked throughout the month of October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami has developed an array of “Pink Perks,” extras for groups ranging from VIP guestroom upgrades to yacht excursions, with discounted savings of up to $750. The hotel will also contribute $1 per room night to breast cancer research for any group that confirms a stay through October.
Also this month, meeting planners can add a specially created Pink Break to their meetings, or two pink cocktails designed by the hotel’s mixologists—the Lily in the Wind and the Lilt Cocktail—to their receptions. The EPIC will donate $1 per cocktail to the American Cancer Society during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“This is the first-ever rollout of the ‘Pink Your Perks’ package for groups at EPIC,” says Biby Banna, city marketing manager. “Kimpton is involved with and supports a wide variety of causes. In this particular instance, EPIC decided to give back in a meaningful way and our sister property, The Surfcomber, Miami, opted in.”
The Surfcomber, which is located in South Beach, will also be donating 10 percent of all group expenditures to breast cancer research throughout the month of October.
Altruism runs deep at Kimpton, which recently partnered with The Trevor Project (founded by the creators of the Academy Award–winning film Trevor), a national organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth.
