Leave it to Vegas to come up with a distractions-free event venue with onsite guest rooms available only to meeting attendees who book the facility. IPEC Las Vegas, located near the Las Vegas Strip, opened this summer with more than 20,000 sf of meeting space, but its inclusion of onsite accommodations for up to 200 attendees helps keep the typical Vegas distractions out of the meeting.
“IPEC Las Vegas is unique because it is deliberately not located in the center of the bustling Las Vegas Strip—yet it is located very near McCarran International Airport,” says Michael Fiorentino, general manager, IPEC Las Vegas Events. “Its position provides facility clients with a distinctly focused atmosphere not found elsewhere in the meetings capital of the world. That said, it’s located near the Strip, so those entertainment amenities are conveniently just a short drive away for groups who choose to base themselves at IPEC but still enjoy a night out on the town.”
A grand, double staircase and fountain greets attendees in the facility’s 5,000-sf lobby, which has 29-foot-high ceilings. Gold accents and spiral light fixtures make the space feel modern, while floor-to-ceiling windows add natural light, making it an ideal space for receptions. Towering LED screens also allow groups to project their own images and messaging to attendees.
“The facility is extraordinarily elegant—very clean and contemporary, but beautiful—perfect as a backdrop for everything from a corporate gathering to an education event,” says Fiorentino.
For meetings, IPEC offers a 10,000-sf ballroom, six conference rooms and one multipurpose room as well as a 2,500-sf kitchen with customizable F&B service. Its 49 overnight rooms include 46 that have two queen beds, a bathroom, desk and sitting area. Two one-bedroom accommodations also have a master bath, living room and wet bar. For speakers or VIP attendees, one four-bedroom accommodation is available, featuring three bathrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen.
Meeting planners booking the space can essentially take over the entire facility. They can become as creative as they want, incorporating a wide range of teambuilding activities. The facility partners with AWG Destination Management Services, Metropolitan Exhibition Services Inc. and Hospitality Performance Network to help provide entertainment such as jugglers, stilt walkers, psychic readers, acrobats and even animals. They can also help plan offsite tours of Vegas or transportation to nearbys act such as Cirque du Soleil shows.
“With onsite overnight accommodations, IPEC Las Vegas provides a distinctive option for groups looking to have an immersive education or teambuilding experience,” says Fiorentino. “If a group books an event at IPEC, they automatically have the full facility to themselves and none of the distractions posed by other venues.”
