Meeting planners now have an easier way to market their events. A new partnership between Cvent Inc., provider of the cloud-based enterprise event management platform, and Marketo, provider of marketing software, will combine event management and event marketing into one platform. The companies recently announced that Cvent’s event management platform will be integrated with the Marketo customer engagement platform, allowing for planners to more effectively engage their attendees and better brand their events.

Through the Marketo LaunchPoint ecosystem, meeting planners will be able to plan and execute events while at the same time strengthening brand equity and engaging attendees. More often than not, events are a large part of an organization’s marketing budget, so the integration can also help in accelerating sales cycles.

“In-person events are typically 25% of an organization’s marketing budget,” says Eric Eden, vice president of Marketing at Cvent. “So marketers need event management technology that is linked to their marketing systems to convert event leads to sales. Using Marketo and Cvent together helps marketers realize the full benefits of the marketing cloud, and Cvent has a track record for partnering with industry leaders, like Marketo, to deliver results for customers.”

The integration platform allows meeting planners to build more complete customer profiles that would help in marketing campaigns. It tracks everything from contact updates to email statuses to event and session activity. Plus, the platform will offer meeting planners easy ways to customize branded event websites and emails, manage attendee housing and travel plans, secure payment processing and coordinate online event management. There’s also an easy way to send out event and session feedback surveys. The best part: All of this will be available under one platform.
